MC3D is a small 3D printing business in Darlington, UK. This page explains what information we collect when you use this website, what we use it for, and how we look after it.

The short version

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with anyone else. We only use it to make and deliver your order and to reply to you. The only time any of it leaves us is when a service has to handle it to complete your order, such as the payment processor taking your payment or the postal service delivering your parcel.

What we collect

  • When you order: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), delivery and billing address, what you ordered, and any personalisation such as names and colour choices.
  • When you use the contact form: your name, email address and the details of your idea.
  • When you browse: basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you visit, plus small cookies that keep your basket working.

We never see or store your full card details. Payments are handled securely by our payment processor.

How we use it

  • To make, pack and post your order.
  • To send you emails about your order, such as confirmations and dispatch updates.
  • To reply to messages you send us.
  • To keep records we are legally required to keep, such as sales records for tax.

We will not send you marketing emails unless you have chosen to receive them, and you can stop them at any time.

Who handles your data on our behalf

To run the shop we rely on a few services that process data for us under their own privacy and security rules. They may only use it to provide their service to us:

  • WooPayments (Stripe) processes card payments.
  • WordPress.com hosts this website and stores order details.
  • The postal service sees your name and address on the parcel.
  • Akismet checks contact form messages for spam.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax, normally six years. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

Cookies

This site uses essential cookies to keep your basket and checkout working, and basic statistics cookies from our host to show how many people visit. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (unless we must keep it by law), or object to how we use it. To make a request, get in touch through our Contact page.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
