About
A small studio with a lot of filament
MC3D is a 3D printing studio in Darlington. We design and print the kind of thing people pick up off a desk and ask “where did you get that?”
Ducks in costumes. Figures with rude little signs. Clickers that spell your name. Signs for a kid’s bedroom door. Some of it starts on our shelf. A lot of it starts with a message from someone who has an idea and no way to make it.
How we work
Three things we stick to
Show the print
You’ll see fine layer lines on our pieces. That’s how 3D printing works and we think it looks good. We don’t sand it into something that looks shop-bought.
Made for one person
Most of what we print has a name on it, or a joke only one person will get. We’d rather print one perfect duck than a hundred average ones.
For anyone
Kids, grandparents, gamers, teachers, the colleague who has everything. If you can describe it, we’re happy to have a go.
Designer credits
The designers behind some of our prints
Some of the models on our shelf are designed by independent 3D designers whose work we print under a commercial licence. We print, finish and post every piece ourselves, but the original designs are theirs. If you like what they make, go and say hello.
